My PhD thesis was on the atomic bomb narratives that emerged following the nuclear attack on Hiroshima in 1945. It looked at how history and memory influenced the narratives of the bombing and shaped the discourse on nuclear weapons. These were discussed against the background of erasure of personal memories in favor of collective remembrance and the appropriation and resurgence of individual memories to forward political ideologies of the time.
